The next morning was an early departure for a rush to Puerto Escondido for fuel and food. Our fresh veggies were getting thin. It was about as smooth as it could have been, with Jean getting food while Vicki and I topped off the tanks. By 9:45am we were back underway, sadly not much new produce as the next day was the restocking. Oh well, we will survive.
We motored the short distance to Honeymoon Cove and dropped our anchor at the preferred beach with just one monohull already anchored. Later, I paddled over to make sure they were okay with our distance away and had a nice chat with a couple from France. Since last year they have sailed from Georgia (USA) through the canal, to Alaska, down the pacific coast and into the sea (13,000 miles). Their plans are to cross the pacific next spring. Our friends on MV Aberdeen Queen, Wayne and Chris were close by so I swung over to chat for a bit. I was evidently taking too long, as I could see Jean and Vicki getting restless so I say goodbye and headed back.
A kayak around the area for all three of us, followed by a hike for Jean and me to the top of the surrounding peaks. With some winds from the west and plans to get to Agua Verde tomorrow we departed around 3:30pm for Candeleros. Dinner and some Big Bang closed out the night – well except for some gusty winds that woke me up a couple of times however it was all good.
A beautiful sunrise on top of the boat with Jean and coffee started our morning. Vicki was slow to emerge from here cabin but around 8:30am we get started and underway to Agua Verde.
