Week 3 in the yard – the grind continues

Another busy week and more unexpected projects checked off the list. On the plus side, my friend Jack arrived Friday and has made a huge improvement to the quantity of work and reducing mistakes (two brains are better than one). Hopefully just one more week to finish and get to Mexico!

Add spacer to port fuel filter (to make filter changes easier)
Adjust the stack pack, lazy jacks lines, and reef lines
Coat stern extension drain holes with epoxy
Create and print watermaker logbook
Create and print watermaker procedure document
Cut, fit, and install foam blocks between battery banks
Flip the Reef 1/3 line
Glue weather stripping on bow lockers
Install anchor bridle
Install bowsprit hardware
Install forward lifelines
Install new stack pack
Mark the reef points on the Main halyard, Reef 1/3, and Reef 2 lines
Outboard lower unit bolt was found loose and water intrusion into the gear oil - drained gear oil, flushed with fresh gear oil, filled with Marvel Mystery Oil/Engine oil (ran 5 minutes) and drained, filled with Marvel Mystery Oil/Engine oil and drained, filled with lower unit gear oil
Polish stainless arch
Print out TIP and Mexican insurance paperwork and add to documentation binder
Remove rusted anchor bolts and install new bolts, grind down rust areas and coat with re-galvanizing paint
Remove solar panels to take pictures for warrant claim, file warranty claim, follow up on claim, and submit reimbursement paperwork
Remove stern stanchions after finding water inside the boat after heavy rain
Remove water mufflers, brackets and mounts - remove rust from all parts, paint brackets, and reattached brackets to mounts
Repair American flag post, reinforce flag post, and replace American flag
Repair stern extension damage (after drying with high air for two weeks) with a flox/epoxy mixture
Replace all seawater hose clamps with high strength stainless hose clamps (24 clamps)
Replace kayak rack bolts with longer bolts and relocate to the bottom the stanchions, Lanocote all parts
Replace line used to lift the doors
Replace missing screws on the screecher Furler block bracket
Replace seawater hose on starboard head from water pump to the head
Replace seawater hoses (6) from heat exchanger to anti-siphon valve to exhaust elbow hoses and replace 5/8" hose to 3/4" hose plastic adapter with brass parts
Replace upper tool cabinet latch
Replace weatherstripping on SB cockpit locker and mast locker
Sand rust on engine air filter cases, paint with rust converting paint, and reinstall
Sand/grind rust on the engines, paint with primer, paint with Yanmar touch up paint
Solar panel corrosion treatment - remove, wire brush corrosion, aluminum corrosion treatment jelly, wash, coat with enamel paint, apply 3m 4000UV to frame/glass joint
Treat corrosion on saloon window latches and paint black
Treat stanchions and deck for rust stains
Wash dinghy
Wash lines
