5:15pm the anchor was secure and we were on our way to Muertos-, a sixty mile hop. To avoid the daily winds and associated waves we decided on a night passage and with the winds declining we had an easy passage with just a bit of wave action first few hours. At 1:30am we were off to bed with the anchor secure on the bottom of the sea.
The next morning started with fishing pangas heading out in the dark and a nice breeze to keep the boat temperatures nice for sleeping. A quick wash of the boat and we took our time to recover from the overnight passage not leaving the boat until 3:00pm and after the completion of our first game of Mexican Train. It was off to Restaurant 1535, the beach palapa place with amazing margarita’s and massive loaded nachos. It being a Sunday, they had been slammed all day, couple that with the heat and everyone was moving slowly. No complaints from us, we weren’t on a schedule and happy to relax in the shade playing cards. As the sun creeped below the roof line the temperature shot up so it was time to move on. Back in the dinghy and over to the fancy hotel with a bar/restaurant for stop two on the bar hap tour.
I mixed up the location so after a bit of wandering around a guest pointed us in the right direction. Not all that hungry but feeling the need for a beer. Oh, are those boneless chicken wings on that table? Okay, twist my arm. Order placed, Jack and I headed up to look upstairs at the model trains and play some video games. As seems to frequently be the case, the games were all inop. I’m sure the salt air doesn’t do them well and I doubt there is anyone around with the parts to fix them. Oh well.
With the sun below the horizon, our bellies overstuffed we headed back to Strikhedonia – and I thanked Vicki again for suggesting we turn on the anchor light. Silly me, I thought we would be back earlier.
