Closing out my time in Barra

With so much music, friends, and good food the days slip by quickly.

I enjoyed time with my parent’s friend Marilyn. She is almost eighty and I can’t keep up with her – dinner, music, dancing. The first night we hit rib night at Senor Froy’s followed up by music at Time out and Lucy’s. Then it was time to hear my favorite band (Chido Rivera Band) in Barra who play at Bogavante on Wednesday nights. Marilyn reserved a table for us and we snuck in before the happy hour 2-for-1 special ended. A great meal while listening to the band and dancing, so much fun. Of course both nights I was the one headed to bed first…

Good friends Risto and Liz (Silver Wings) have some long time Seattle friends in a popular band (Jr. Cadillac). So popular that their show in Barra sold out within days and left me without a ticket. Duh! Well they managed to get me in as friends of the band and we had a great time. This was followed up the next day with a pool party at the weekly Hotel Cabo Blanco band karaoke/bbq with a couple of the band members. We squeeze a ton of fun into a couple of days together!

Of course it was all food, drinks, and music. I also took a some fun hikes; to Secret Beach (no longer very secret); up the empty roads on the hills above Grade Isla resort, and an urban hike to the barrio area of Barra.

I do enjoy spending time is this town where the living is too easy.
