Interior Clean Up

The day started off with making good time on the right wing tip access door. Everything fell into place and soon I had everything cleco’d together and flox between the fiberglass door and the metal stiffener curing. Then is was on to electrical stuff. I knocked out the prep wiring for the right wing tip light. So once the tip…

Trying to button up the tunnel

Back from winter break. Crazy but the build was at a standstill while I was gone. Huh. Guess I better get cracking. Started the day riveting the second rear seat back and then made the hinge pins. I set them aside until after I’m able to test the avionics, just in case there is an issue and I need to…

No more wires left

Overnight I realized I missed the wires for the doors unlatched switches, oops. Along with pulling a new Com1 antenna wire I finished off running the wires. I still have a bunch of terminations to do on the VPX but then I should be done. Fingers crossed the avionics works when I flip the switch. A fellow RV-10 builder has…

Huh, that was a strange day

It started well, actually that is not true. I went to adjust a cable tray and damaged it. So it I guess it was the same start to finish. Oh well. What was accomplished? Mounted Transponder Mounted VPX electronic breakers Adjusted Aerosport panel Final epoxy/sanding on the carbon fiber before clearcoating Determined carpet and interior panels before painter comes tomorrow…

Firewall electrical, game time.

Much of the day was spent fabricating the doubler for the electrical fire wall equipment and deburring/dimpling/priming the oil cooler mount. Also on the list was finishing the wing root skin that involved dimpling/deburring/priming the ribs and skin. See a pattern here. Followed by back riveting the stiffeners to the skins. Got the baggage door clecoed together and mixed between…

Folks we have a tail!

Before getting to the excitement of the day there was a setback. When placing the Vertical Stabilizer on the airframe it became apparent that my VOR/GS antenna install was for shit. It would interfere with the rudder, fuck me. So rivets drilled, parts removed, doubler and nutplates flipped, and slots cut for the antenna to slide down the VS skins.…

ELT and Remote Comm mounting

Took a break from the Rudder to get the ELT and GTR20 Remote Comm mounted to the rear avionics tray. Also, worked on the center console where I mounted the rear passenger headset jack and USB charger, plus the pilot/co-pilot jacks. Finished up the day prepping for tomorrows work on the avionics wiring.
