Well how about more carbon fiber work…

I decided I needed to make some adjustments to the mounting brackets for the transponder which morphed into giving all of the support brackets a good paint job. That along with a little more work on the baggage door took up a good chunk of the morning. After lunch I ran two cables I had forgotten for the overhead lights and overhead vent. I also worked on rewiring the backup battery contactor and the starter contactor for a couple of issues I realized this week. One, the backup battery would never get charged unless that battery was supplying the power to the electronics – hopefully something that never happens. As I realized that unlike the battery contactors the starter contactor receives a +12VDC single and not a wire that shorts to ground.

The afternoon was spent mounting/drilling the panel and console to the tunnel. Fuck, this was a shit ton of work. So difficult to line everything up. Fun fact, the tunnel cover DOES NOT perfectly align with the nutplates in the tunnel. But it is all done now and we can send the carbon fiber to the painter for clearcoat – just a day later than I expected…
