Devil’s Causeway isn’t for the faint of heart

We got an early start to attempt to beat the crowds to the Flat Tops. Which pretty much worked. Not too many people on the way up but we did run into higher numbers on the way down.

At the rim it got narrower until we reached the Devil’s Causeway. Probably a 2-3 foot wide rocky section that went a few hundred meters. Jean opted to rest while I scampered across running into a group of women on a multi-day hike. We chatted and one of them joked about carrying her pack across. I took their picture for them before heading further down the trail. I was surprised to find two of the four still working up the courage to cross and offered to carry their packs. One women was very relieved for the help and explained she was close to vomiting she was so worried. In the end everyone made with zero drama.
