My bad, I screwed it up. Happy to admit that, but the bottom line was two of my shades were not operating properly. I spend a ridiculous amount of time watching YouTube videos, reading manuals, and reading other posts but ultimately I gave up on fixing the blinds myself. Let me back up and say we love these motorized blinds, they work great and make sleeping tremendously better by lowering (raising) at the touch of a button instead of manually lowering all six blinds individually.

When I took them down for our windows to be replaced, I mixed up the blinds and then reprogrammed two longer blinds for shorter windows. You’d think that would be easy to correct but there you would be wrong. After trying all of the above, I decided to call Hunter Douglas for help. Called in, put in queue and fifteen minutes later the automated system requested I put in my phone number for a call back. That done I wait. And I wait. And I wait. Never did get a call back.

Next day I call them again, after a reasonable wait a tech comes on the phone. I explain the issue and next she asks if I know where I bought them. Huh, that is odd as I would think the manufacturer would be the expert. I say I do and she asks if I have the “app”, I explain I installed it but that the blinds won’t connect. Yes, I need a hub she tells me. All this after I tell her I only use the Pebble remote. Oh well. Next she tells me the motor is likely broken and needs to be replaced. I explain that I can reset the limits and it runs the full length of the window. Nope, still could be bad. I’m starting to lose faith in the “tech.” Next she has me attempt to set the lower limit (which I have tried many times). Guess what, it still doesn’t work. I ask about a factory reset and I’m told there is no such thing and I need to send them in for repair. I call bullshit but keep that to myself and hang up.

Next I call Blind Corners and Curves (where I bought them). Talk to a tech there and explain the issue and ask if there is a factory reset. He says of course there is and gives me the instructions. I thank him and tell him I’ll call back if that doesn’t work. Five minutes later my blinds are working like new. Simple as that. Big shout out to Blind Corners and Curves for well trained techs who quickly gave me the fix.

Unbelievable that the manufacturer wanted me to send them back for repair. Shame on you “ Hunter Douglas.

So the recovery to fix my screw up was to do the following:
1. Factory Reset
2. Limit Reset
3. Rejoin group number
