Power
Strikhedonia is powered by two 29 hp Yanmar 3YM30 diesel motors with SD20 saildrive legs fitted with Gori 3 blade folding propellers. These power trains have been professionally serviced/maintained and provide an ideal combination of reliability, fuel efficiency, power and speed. Using engine power, Strikhedonia has a cruising speed of 7-8 knots at 2600rpm (using 3L per hour) with a maximum speed of around 9 knots, depending on sea state. Two 160L diesel fuel tanks are located under the floor in each hull giving Strikhedonia a motor cruising range of up to 800nm.

Each motor has an independently regulated 80A Alternator directly connected to the 700 CCA Start Battery. These keep the Start Battery fully charged and then charge the 400AH lithium iron potassium oxide house batteries. The solar panels normally have the batteries fully charged by 10:00am and during cloudy periods up to three days power is available for watching movies and operating the refrigerator/freezers.

Strikhedonia comes with three 315 watt LG Solar panels connected to the house battery bank through an independent solar panel voltage regulator. The solar power ensures that the house batteries remain charged at anchor without the need to run the engines.

Strikhedonia is also fitted with two inverters. A Victron 3000 watt 120V shore charger/12V inverter, that provides 120V power to outlets located in the galley, saloon and navigation station areas, either directly from shore power or via the inverter from the 12V house battery bank when at sea. The Victron also regulates 120V shore power to safely charge the house batteries when in a marina. The second inverter is an Xantrex XS400 is extremely efficient and provides power to the television, stereo, and saloon outlet.

Communications
Strikhedonia also comes equipped with an Raymarine VHF marine radio which gives good radio coverage. For weather, email, and phone calls an external Iridium Go antenna is wired to the starboard saloon ledge (Iridium Go not included)

Entertainment
Music is provided by a high-end Bose surround sound stereo/CD/DVD player with five speaker plus subwoofer surround sound. Separate listening is available in the saloon and on the Owner’s berth. Strikhedonia is fitted with motorized retractable large screen television where any of the 400 movies/TV shows on the harddrive can be enjoyed. The TV also has a mobile receiver/tuner connected to an antenna mounted on the mast spreaders.

Navigation
Strikhedonia comes with a Raymarine C120 color chartplotter fitted with Navionics digital charts, mounted on a swivel arm in front of the main helm position, allowing clear viewing from the helm or from within the saloon when required.

The Chart Plotter is connected to a GPS antenna mounted on the solar panel arch. A Raymarine ST70 programmable display (wind, depth, temperature, speed) instrument is located at the port helm position alongside a Raymarine ST6002 SmartPilot Controller for the autopilot. The engine controls and tachometers are also located at the port helm.
A Silva marine magnetic compass is located in front of both port and starboard helm positions and a Raymarine ST70 programmable display (wind, depth, temperature, speed) instrument alongside a Raymarine ST60+ Tridata instrument is located at the starboard helm position. We travel with a backup chartplotter installed on a tablet as well.

Strikhedonia comes with a complete set of paper for Southern California and the Sea of Cortez. Navigation instruments including parallel rule and protractor are kept in the navigation table.
