A week showing off the cruising lifestyle

Saturday afternoon Jean along with our friends Angie and Rick flew into Puerto Vallarta. After getting them situated it was time to relax by the pool and talk about the plan for the week. When we have friends visit we generally give them an idea of options and let them decide. I explained all of the great places to visit in Banderas bay. Not thinking they would be up for it, tossed out sailing up to Chacala for a few days. I thought for sure the idea of a six-seven hour sail would get shot down but not with these two, that was exactly what they wanted to do. So the plan was set, cruise up to Punta de Mita for a night then head north to Chacala. I love it!

Our time in Punta de Mita included boat yoga followed by dinner at Si Senors. Rick would say I overemphasised the kayaking into shore but I would say it was just a calm night. Either way, everyone stayed dry.

The trip north was a great time on the water, not a ton of wind by enough to slowly sail along and not scare anyone. Even some whales stopped by to entertain. Heck, we even made it to Chacala in time to hit sunset on the beach. This was shaping up to be an excellent visit.

The next morning we headed into town to hike up the volcano that overlooks the bay. The temperature wasn’t too bad and we got a chance to stretch our legs after yesterday’s time on the water. As I like to do, on the trip down we stopped at the eco-hotel/restaurant, Majahua for some limonadas and snacks. From there it was hammock time at beach resort before finally heading back to the boat. A full day by my book.
